YOUTH LEADERS PROGRAM

SLSWA runs a Youth Leaders Program which all Cottesloe Youth are encouraged to undertake.

It requires youth to participate across 3 pillars of Surf Lifesaving

·       Lifesaving:

o   completing qualifications such as SRC, Bronze, radio operators, advanced resuscitation, spinal management.

o   Completing rostered and voluntary patrols

·       Training:

o   Completing Youth Age managers course and assisting Age Group Managers with running of nipper program on Sunday mornings

o   Completing Youth Training Officers Certificate and assisting in training a group for an award (i.e., SRC)

·       Surf Sports:

o   Participating in Sunday morning activities and competitions

o   Completing Youth Officials course and acting as an official at competitions

o   Completing Youth Foundation coach course and assisting with coaching

There are 3 levels for Youth to work through:

Bronze: Requires 4hrs per pillar | 60 total hours
Silver: Requires 6hrs per pillar | 80 total hours
Gold: Requires 8hrs per pillar | 90 total hours

SLSWA and Cottesloe SLC will recognise you as you achieve each level, and when you achieve GOLD level you are invited to SLSWA awards presentation.
