Patrols
The new patrol season commences on Saturday 5th October and runs through until Sunday 30th March.
Cottesloe SLSC volunteers patrol Cottesloe Beach on weekends and public holidays. The beach is patrolled by SLSWA lifeguards during the week making Cottesloe one of the safest beaches to visit over the Summer.
Patrolling Cottesloe Beach and ensuring the safety of all swimmers and beachgoers is the primary reason for our existence as a surf life saving Club. All patrols are done voluntarily. It is a great way to give back to your community and meet other Club members. Cottesloe SLSC members patrol the beach Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays from October to March. including Christmas Day. Every club member, who is a Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue Certificate Award holder must ensure they attend all of their rostered patrols.
Patrol members stand out by wearing the distinctive red and yellow patrol uniform which consists of red shorts, yellow shirt, red and yellow stripe hat and a red cap. One patrol uniform is supplied to you by the club. At a rostered patrol, your duties will involve: Observing swimmers; attending to any minor first aid cases; radio operations & performing any rescues or other tasks as directed by the Patrol Captain, Captain, Patrol Officer or Lifesaving Officer in order to protect the safety of all members of the public within our patrol area.
