Bree Jenkin - Lifeguard of the Year
While only starting her professional lifeguard journey in late 2020, Bree has made a great impression on the lifesaving community. Based at Bunker Bay in our South West, Bree credits the wide range of unique beaches in the region for giving her the opportunity to extend her skills and experiences.
Living and working with her fellow lifeguards created a sense of family for Bree which also enabled a strong and united team on the beach. This lifestyle lets her go to work barefoot, enjoy early mornings, and keeps her active all in one. The most enjoyable thing about being a lifeguard for Bree is the rewarding and satisfying impact her position has on the community.
Bree’s hidden talent is a bit different to her usual lifesaving skill set - she can ride a unicycle!
One thing Bree would tell her younger self is “ignore the people that tell you are not strong enough, tall enough or big enough to do the male dominated aspects of lifesaving”. She wants to encourage more females to get involved in IRBs, Jet Skis and all the fun stuff!
