Trigg Weekend Wrap

Surf League Wrap:

The last round of the surf league series was held again at Trigg Beach and once again Trigg turned on the conditions for our competitors. Exposure to these events and conditions greatly improves our competition talents skills and experience.

When we look back to Round 1 we saw nervous and intimidated faces turn to smiles and excitement in Round 3. Cottesloe SLSC is building a great sense of community, support and camaraderie by participating in these events and this shows in our results. 5th place for Round 3 and 7th place overall for the series.

Huge thanks goes to Glenn ELDON & Natasha Leaversuch for still making themselves available to fill in when needed and still show that they can compete with the best in the state. Big thanks to the parents and guardians for getting our competitors to these events. A special note is that a club that has alot more resources (Name withheld) could not be bothered to turn up for the last round, it says a lot about what money cannot buy, but what we have in truck loads!

Surf Boat Carnival Wrap:

The wave was on at Trigg Surf Boat Carnival and the Cottesloe male surf boat crews rode them like champions!! 3 rounds and a final was the challenge for the day.

Cottesloe Muppets rowed like young men with a 4th and two 3rds, next to them were the Cottesloe Crew who rowed a 4th, 3rd and 5th. Needless to say they both finished in the “B Final” and the scurry was on to find another sweep, for Paul Beattie is an exceptional sweep but not able to split in half.

The stage was set for the duke off and who would take home bragging rights. The Cottesloe Crew jumped out of the gates when the horn went off, the Muppets were hot on their heals. 2 teams got wiped out by a wave and then it was a race of 4, Cottesloe Crew gave their all and finished a gallant 2nd while the Muppets legs turned to jelly and it was all over for them.

Absolutely fantastic day of racing by these fellas!! While other crews were getting battered, flipped over and thrown out our sweep in Paul Beattie held every race strong 💪 and gave the crews every chance of success.
